About Freedom Park

Freedom Park is a privately owned outdoor venue in Rogersville, Missouri, built by the Sell family with one mission in mind: to create a place where everyone can experience the outdoors.

What began as a passion for fishing and helping others has grown into a community space where children, veterans, families, schools, individuals with disabilities, and organizations can gather, learn, celebrate, and enjoy the freedom that comes from being outside.

JP Sell has spent years using fishing and outdoor recreation to bring people together. Since opening Freedom Park Lake, the Sell’s have hosted more than 12,000 children and visitors and helped teach them about fishing.

Meet JP Sell

JP Sell is an angler, outdoor advocate, program founder, and community builder based in Rogersville, Missouri.

Over the years, JP has used his experience in fishing to create opportunities for young anglers, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

His work has included adaptive fishing, youth fishing opportunities, veterans events, community partnerships, and outdoor experiences designed to help people feel capable and included.

JP’s heart for Freedom Park is simple:

“I didn’t build this for us. I built it for everyone else.”

That spirit is what guides every event, program, and gathering at Freedom Park.

Built With Access in Mind

Freedom Park is ADA compliant and designed to help more people enjoy the outdoors. From accessible gathering areas to outdoor experiences that welcome individuals with disabilities, the goal is to create a place where people can participate instead of watching from the sidelines.
